GTalk (Google talk) configuration on Pidgen

Recently I upgraded my laptops OS to Ubuntu 10.04. As in Empathy, the default Internet messenger voice and video chats are not completely implemented for gTalk users, I looked back to Pidgen Internet Messenger.

Following are the steps to configure gtalk on Pidgin.

1. Install Pidgin

2. Accounts -> Manage Accounts ->Add

3. Basic tab
    Protocol     : XMPP
User name  : gmail id without "@gmail.com"
    Domine       : gmail.com
    Password    : gmail password

   Advanced tab

Force old (port 5223) SSL :

   connect port                       : 5223
   connect server                    : talk.google.com

Moving clouds

In life,
We meet people.
We meet many of them again and again…
We call them as friends. We want it or not, they become part of our memories. They share moments with us… But one day many of them will pass out into their own way…

Very few will be able to create footprint in our life…
I often think about these...

As most of my friends know, I am very poor in remembering faces & names of person I meet for first time. I will give just a friendly smile towards every unknown person speaking to me. I do make use of general FAQ like how are you? What do you do these days? Met any friends…. Meanwhile, ill be trying to get some hints about our previous meet.

This makes me think about my own attitude. Am I not respecting friendship? I don’t think so, Am I trying to escape from the responsibilities that follow friendship? Never…
Or am I not considering people as friends in first few meets? Hmmm, this might be sensible reason… But once I consider them as friend, they remain the same forever.

Long back I read one beautiful quote, “In life, many moving clouds pass over the sky. But only few will stop and rain to make life fertile...”

Well, there is much to talk about friends who are still in sky. But we seldom find words about friends who were with us for pretty nice time & passed over different paths. Some time we find specific reason for such deviations, many times we won’t. They just disappear over time. They appear only when we turn back our life’s old pages. Now we prefer it not, they remain prominent icon of those beautiful movements. It is better to enjoy remembering that old buddy than feeling sad about the same Mr.Unknown of today.

Although we may meet them again in our long journey, they remain as visitors and there remain many words unsaid…
